Uspávanka is an intimate and deeply personal piece in which Jaďuďová weaves together words and music to express longing, vulnerability, and the search for comfort. The work opens with a calm, tender atmosphere, its phrases unfolding like whispered reassurances. The accompanying text, penned by the composer, frames the music as a conversation between inner fears and the solace found in the embrace of a loved one.

With its delicate dynamic shading and understated lyricism, the piece invites the listener into a private space—one where stillness, trust, and warmth prevail, and where the quiet act of singing a lullaby becomes both a gift and a refuge.

Zas utápam svoju emóciu v notách,

hľadám útechu v hudbe, v tvojom pohľade.

Posielam mu pohľadnice,

no nerozumiem, čo sa deje.

Sedím tu – zľaknutá, a predsa odvážna,

čakajúc na signál, jasný a nepochybný.

Nevediac, čo robím,

chápajúc, čo chcem.

Pomôž mi to pochopiť –

jednodušne a značne.

Dnes už viem, že potrebujem spočínúť

v bezpečí, v tvojom náručí.

A spievaj mi…

šepkaj mi uspávanku.

Once again, I drown my emotion in notes,
seeking comfort in music, in your gaze.
I send it postcards,
yet I do not understand what is happening.

I sit here — frightened, and yet brave,
waiting for a signal, clear and certain.
Not knowing what I am doing,
yet knowing what I want.

Help me understand it —
plainly, and surely.
Today I know I need to rest
in safety, in your embrace.

And sing to me…
whisper me a lullaby.
