String Sextet No. 1, Op. 57

Jaďuďová’s String Sextet No. 1 is to this date her only work for string sextet, conceived in six movements under the playful subtitle “A little bit of everything.” Across its span, the sextet moves fluidly through a wide range of characters—from lyrical to dance-like, from intense to serene—making full use of the ensemble’s rich sonority and folk elements.
