Dedicated to Mr & Mrs Mucha, Jaďuďová’s Romance for cello and piano is both a gesture of gratitude and a lyrical extension of the composer’s earlier Cello Concerto No. 1. Written shortly after the concerto, the work draws on the same expressive language but in a more intimate chamber setting.
