Meditation, Op. 71
Written in 2026
Meditation unfolds as a compact, internally driven structure in which the musical material grows from a limited set of intervallic relationships and gradually transforms over time. Rather than relying on an external narrative, the work is shaped by the tension between consonance and dissonance, stability and deviation, allowing its form to arise organically from within.
At the same time, the piece evokes a state of inward focus. Silence, restraint, and resonance play a central role, suggesting a meditative space in which sound emerges naturally and returns to stillness. Within this calm surface, however, a clear inner trajectory unfolds: the music gradually intensifies in both density and motion, leading to a defined post-central climax.
This moment—marked by increased dynamic energy and activity—can be understood as the culmination of the meditative process: a point of heightened awareness, a transition into another state, or the discovery of a crucial thought or resolution. From there, the music slowly withdraws, allowing the material to dissipate and settle back into quietness, leaving space for reflection.
In this way, Meditation reflects both a structural and experiential process—moving from stillness through concentration and transformation, and ultimately returning to silence.
