2 Czárdás for violin & piano, Op. 23
Written in 2017-2019
In these two concert pieces for violin and piano, Jaďuďová pays homage to the Hungarian czárdás tradition while giving it her own expressive and structural voice. Though inspired by Vittorio Monti’s popular Csárdás, these works go beyond mere imitation—infused with personal emotion, harmonic richness, and virtuosic flair.
The czárdás form, with its alternating slow (lassú) and fast (friss) sections, offers a natural dramatic arc—one that Jaďuďová uses not only for contrast but as a platform for lyrical introspection and fiery display.
